Utica:

  • 10:00 AM: Explore the site of Utica, an ancient Carthaginian trading post founded by the Phoenicians three centuries before Carthage.
    • Highlights:
      • Utica was once on the sea, but the sea has since retreated 12km, causing the city and its port to lose importance.
      • See the remaining Punic tombs and the Roman city built on the same site.
      • Around 36 B.C., the city received municipal rights under Octavian and was later promoted to the rank of Roman colony under Hadrian.
      • The city was taken by the Vandals in 439 and reclaimed by the Byzantines in 534.
      • Visit the Punic vestiges, Roman buildings, and the treasures in the museum.

11:30 AM: Depart for Bizerte.

Bizerte:

  • 12:30 PM: Arrival in Bizerte, the most European city of Tunisia, located 60 kilometers north of Tunis.
    • Highlights:
      • Enjoy a day walking around the old French streets, the port, and the beautiful white sandy beaches.
      • Treat yourself to a refreshing Italian ice cream.

Lunch:
