Morning:

• 9:00 AM: Meet our guide at the hotel reception.
• 9:30 AM: Depart for the site of Carthage.

Carthage:

• 10:00 AM: Explore the site of Carthage, the ancient Punic capital, now a suburb of Tunis and an important archaeological and tourist site.
  • Highlights:
    • Carthage, from the Phoenician Kart-Hadasht (meaning "the new city"), in Arabic (Qartaj), is dominated by the hill of Byrsa, which was the center of the Punic metropolis.
    • Visit the Cathedral of Saint Louis, built at the end of the 19th century on the presumed site of the burial of the King of France who died there during the last crusade. King Louis-Philippe I, a descendant of Saint Louis, sent an architect to find the precise location, but chose the most beautiful spot when the exact site couldn't be determined.
    • See the remains of the most important district of the city, including foundations and fragments of columns, which reveal the immense scale and power of ancient Carthage with large spaces, panoramic views, and organized streets.

11:30 AM: Depart for Sidi Bou Said.

Sidi Bou Said:

• 12:00 PM: Arrival in Sidi Bou Said, a beautiful village perched on the heights of a holy hill overlooking the bay of Tunis.
  • Highlights:
    • Participants will have 1 hour to stroll through the cobblestone streets, accompanied by our guide, who will share the history of "Sidi Bou."
    • This village has inspired many great artists, including French writers André Gide and Georges Bernanos, and the German painter Paul Klee, who frequented the famous "Café des Nattes" at the top of the village.
    • Take in the immaculate houses with azure windows hiding jasmine gardens behind studded doors, and enjoy the picturesque views.

Lunch:

• 1:00 PM: Enjoy lunch in a local restaurant (arrangements can be made by you, or we can arrange it for you).
  • Before lunch, take some time to sip delicious mint tea on the terrace of the Café des Nattes and stroll through the streets of the village.

Afternoon:

• 2:30 PM: Continue to the famous harbor of Sidi Bou Said for some photo opportunities and to taste the famous tea of the region.
• 3:30 PM: Depart for the hotel.

Evening:

• 4:00 PM: Return to the hotel.
